TRAINING PILOT PROJECT
for
Children with Special Needs

This
page provides information on the Pilot Music Training Project for Disabled
Children in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. This project is a new project
as part of the Learning Center for Disabled Children in Sarajevo and
will receive assistance from TWI for the Children, Inc.
PURPOSE:
The
purpose of the Musical Training Program
for Disabled Children is to develop listening and performing skills by
creating a positive learning atmosphere.
This project meets the need for the disabled
children to express themselves, feel rhythm, learn about
the instruments, and improve their motorics.
ACTIVITIES
Activities
include:

Planning
time for songs
Use of
visual aids
Repeating
melodies and dance movement.
EXPECTATIONS
Children
with special needs will learn about boundaries by performing and become aware
of the freedom, as well. They will build awareness of their purpose in society
by studying with typical kids and learn to love to study and think. They will
realize various ways of expressing themselves, and how to love and receive
affection. All the music has been created from love, because of love and for
love.
GROUP
INTERACTIONS
Our
children will work with typical children. The age range is from 6-30 years,
and includes typical visiting children interacting with kids with
special needs.
