Preparation Time Flys bye!!
Begin getting ready NOW

Transportation :

  • You should have your air ticket now! Be certain to check the dates and times and place of departure to ensure that all are correct.

  • Our  team car and van will be packed with team members and with baggage. We take 3 interpreters. Our car carries 5 persons. We will be packed very tight.

Each team member is asked to carry two bags of camp supplies on the plane to Bosnia. This limits the team member to a carry-on bag for his/her personal gear.

"All "

We continue to stress  that the camp experience is extremely rewarding but exhausting. Be prepared to be exhausted.

  • We have a great time, but you must be in good physical condition and  up to the challenge. Start getting in shape now!  Walking and daily physical exercise are a must.

  • Camp team volunteers interact with the children and teachers from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Be prepared for a tough daily schedule followed by long trips to the next location.

  • Lunch time is spent with the children and there are no breaks during the day. You will eat at the schools and at the orphanages. The food is usually pretty sparse.

  • Most  camps will be one-day in length followed by travel to the next town. There is little time to rest between camps.

  • Transportation is without air conditioning.  We hope the van does not break-down, but we know the van will require frequent rest stops and will need help in getting up the hills.

  • Accommodations will be with widows in a home environment; in very small hotels; or at the orphanages.

  • Meals will be taken at local cafe's, restaurants or homes.

Modern conveniences we  take for granted at home might not be found in some of the areas we visit.

 Participant Paperwork

Volunteers for the TWI Team have submit a completed Application; a release from Liability Form and submitted their passport photo.

  • The information  you provide  us  on the application is important part in  determining how we consider using you in our camp program.

  • Our teams need to practice  group tasks . A training days  when we make our decisions on  the leaders role in the camps will be held in Sarajevo when we arrive.

  • Each individual should know about our administrative details; Bosnian political and cultural differences, and the cultural opportunities we offer. We try to put as much information as possible on this web site.

Coordination: We  update information on the project activities on this Web Site, www.TWI4Kids.org.  Click on  your project.

  • Information will be linked from the project  page. We  use e-mail as our primary way of corresponding with you.

We anticipate  completing wonderful projects in Bosnia, in Serbia and in Montenegro this summer and cannot wait to get started. Check out our links on what a typical project day will look like as well as what to take with you and what to expect in the Balkans.
