Guidelines for becoming a volunteer to work with children at
orphanages in the Balkans: Age:
Volunteer will be 18 years or older and must
have completed high school. Guidelines:
The minimum
period of work is 30 days. Volunteer will provide a positive
leadership example at all times on the trip. This includes, but is not
limited to: no public display of affection; no inappropriate drinking of
alcoholic beverages; no inappropriate dress. “TWI for the Children”
will provide an interpreter throughout the time the volunteer is in the
Balkans. TWI Expectations: Volunteer will teach English language and other educational subjects to children and teens living in orphanages in the Balkans. Volunteer will live in the assigned orphanage. The orphanage director will assign tasks to the volunteer. Volunteers will not be expected to work on weekends. Each volunteer will provide a journal of activities accomplished during their stay at the orphanage. This journal will be provided by email to TWI. Orphanage
