This page gives a day-by-day picture of the "TWI for the Children" weekend for children with special needs and their families at the "House of Peace" at the monastery at Rama located in the mountains of central Bosnia.
TWI for the Children annually hosts a camp for children with special needs and their families at the beautiful monastery at Rama. This monastery is located on a scenic lake high in the mountains of central Bosnia. They enjoy crafts, songs, swimming, games, walks, and an opportunity to just enjoy nature. The area surrounding the monastery is so peaceful and beautiful. Many of the children or their families had never been in the mountains. They appreciated greatly the opportunity to enjoy the peace of mind that nature provides.
The kids and their families are picked up in Sarajevo early on Saturday morning by a bus. We bring them home late Sunday night, tired but happy. Everyone enjoys
delicious food, wonderful accommodations, and the chance to relax with friends and enjoy two-days of great fun.
At night the sky is so clear that you can see every star and the mountains are so close that you can almost touch them. The kids sing songs and go to bed tired, but so happy.
