CAMPS
TO KIDS
TWI for the Children camps for children in Kosovo, Bosnia and
Herzegovina and Montenegro - July 2011. These camps
for children concentrated on camps in two schools in Kosovo
and orphanages in Bosnia-Herzegovina and in Montenegro . Camps were
held in orphanages in Sarajevo, in Mostar
and a picnic was held for children from the orphanage in Zenica.
A picnic was also held for "special needs" children and their
family at a park in Sarajevo. A camp was also held at the orphanage
in Montenegro and with Roma children in Sarajevo. Most of the
camps at orphanages were two days in duration. More than 800 children were
hosted during the three week period. Games, crafts, stories and
presentations were built around the theme of "The Bull and the
Cowboy". Snacks were provided at the camps along with games and
crafts. Back-Packs were provided to each child along with their
picture in a TWI frame.

LEADERSHIP
WORKSHOPS
Leadership
Training Workshops. TWI hosted leadership workshops in
Paracin, Serbia, Macedonia, Kosovo and in Montenegro for university
students from these countries. The Montenegro Leadership Workshop
hosted students from Kosovo, Serbia, Bosnia and Montenegro to discuss
topics of interest to these students in the Balkans. This
workshop brought teams from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro and
Serbia to join our American
team for the TWI Leadership Workshop at the orphanage in Bijela,
Montenegro. The participants from around the Balkans and
the United States met together on the grounds of the orphanage in
Montenegro and took part in the TWI camp for kids at the orphanage as
well as participating in workshops and seminars of interest to the
university students. This was the fourth year for this workshop series
that brought together students and adults from the different
ethnic groups of the former Yugoslavia and has successfully resulted
in better understanding of the concerns of each new Balkan
State. Two conference leaders (Ken Schultz and Drew Morrisroe)
conducted the workshops.
